A divorced father who has created a personal blog and dedicated it to airing his qualms about his former wife has found himself back in family court over the website. The father and former husband says he created the site to connect with other people going through divorce, but a family law judge disagreed and has ordered the man to shut the blog down.

The name of the blog was The Psycho Ex Wife and the father described the entries on the site as a "true account of a marriage, divorce, and subsequent (child) custody fight between a loving man, his terroristic ex-wife . . . and the husband's new partner." The blog documented an intense child custody battle and drew about 200,000 visitors per month. The site attracted so many visitors, who were perhaps going through their own divorce-related battles, that the father began to sell advertising on the site.

When describing the events of his divorce, the father did not mention his ex-wife by name and instead invented a cast of characters in order to avoid recognition and to discuss matters anonymously. In blog entries the ex-wife was referred to as "PEW", which stood for psycho ex-wife.

Perhaps expectedly, the man's ex-wife saw the site and addressed it at a child custody hearing. The family court judge scolded both parents for their behavior, but ordered the father to shut down his site. The judge said the blog went beyond "venting" to "outright cruelty."

Both parents share custody of their two boys, ages 10 and 12. The father has decided to challenge the judge's ruling regarding the site.
